A new mural in Historic downtown Gaffney aims to boost local pride by drawing attention to the city’s celebrated historical elements. The painting at 401 N. Limestone Street is a result of Gaffney’s recent Creative Placemaking Plan, which aims to engage citizens by bringing interactive art along Limestone Street.
With the help of Cate Ryba, Creative Placemaking Consultant, Eli Blasko and Russell Bannan of Bannan & Blasko LLC were selected to design and paint Gaffney’s 80 ft. mural. Based in Spartanburg, Bannan & Blasko have painted dozens of murals which include the “Love Where You Live” and the “USC Upstate 50th Anniversary” murals.
