Christmas in Gaffney

The City of Gaffney is keeping the annual Christmas festivities alive in 2020 by offering an alternate, safe, socially-distanced plan to celebrate the holiday season while following CDC guidelines.

Realizing this event always attracts a large number of people, city staff is making plans to provide a safe environment for the festivities.
On Friday, December 4, 2020 from 6pm-7:30pm, parade entries/participants will remain stationary along Limestone Street while the spectators will have an opportunity to “drive-thru” and enjoy the parade from the safety of their respective vehicles. This revised format will comply with the recommended state guidelines and restrictions.
There is NO entry fee to enter the parade. If you’re interested in entering the Gaffney’s Christmas parade, please contact the Gaffney Visitors Center & Art Gallery at (864)487-6244 or download the parade packet here. Email your completed application to events@getintogaffney.com or drop off at the Gaffney Visitors Center & Art Gallery, located at 210 West Frederick Street.

The 14th Annual “Festival of Trees” will begin soon. The “Festival of Trees” was created to give local non-profit organizations a festive way to tell their story and make the public more aware of community needs and services and to assist local non-profit organizations with fundraising efforts.  Participating organizations decorate their tree to represent their organization.  Attendees, in turn, can donate money for a vote on their favorite tree….so the more creative, the better!  ALL funds collected go to the organization receiving the votes.
If your organization is interested in participating in the Festival of Trees, please turn in the following to the City Clerk, located at 201 N. Limestone Street:
  • A completed application (attached) with your non-profit status letter by Thursday, November 19 (Tree space is limited so the sooner we receive your application, the better)
  • A 1-2 sentence description of your organization (This is for a children’s activity sheet that will be given out during Christmas on Limestone. Children that submit completed activity sheets will be entered into a drawing to receive a Santa’s bag of goodies)
  • A paragraph that describes your organization’s mission statement (this along with a small picture of something on your tree will be posted on the Gaffney Visitors Center & Art Gallery’s Facebook page to help spread your organization’s mission). Also, be sure to like/follow the Gaffney Visitors Center and Art Gallery’s facebook page so that you will be able to share your organization’s post to help spread awareness and educate the community about your organization.
